Another German weapon from the Nazi era. The Fallschirmjagergewher (parachute hunters rifle), aka FG-42, used by German paratroopers during WW2. Selective-fire, caliber 7.92x57, gas-operatred, rotating bolt, with 10-or-20 round magazines. Like so many other Nazi weapons, this one has influenced modern weapon design, particularly the US M60 machine gun. This has a scope, but the weapon had iron sights as well. Only a few thousand were made, and they are very collectible. A German company (Dittrich) makes a semi-auto only copy. Good night and pleasant dreams.
